FG Moves to Strengthen Cotton Textile Garment Industry

The Federal Government has reaffirmed commitment to establishing a robust policy and institutional framework that will support the Cotton Textile Garment (CTG) industry across the country.This assurance was given by the Minister of State for Industry, John Owan Enoh, during the opening session of a CTG stakeholder engagement in Abuja on Wednesday.
Enoh explained that the meeting is part of ongoing efforts by the CTG stakeholder engagement team to strengthen Nigeria’s industrial sector.Emphasizing the importance of collaboration and innovation in addressing challenges facing the industry, he highlighted the CTG sector's rich heritage and vast potential, noting its significance in job creation and economic growth.
The Minister of State also underscored the importance of shared prosperity and the crucial role the Cotton Textile Garment industry plays in achieving it. CTG industry stakeholders stressed the need for a coordinated approach to unlock the sector's full potential. They called for increased collaboration and industrialization to generate employment, attract investments, and integrate the entire value chain from demand to supply.
